Our Story
Nicole and Francesca met six years ago by chance on a cultural tour of Alpine European countries with EF Ultimate Break. Nicole and Francesca shared many special interests and hobbies but what truly made their newfound friendship significant was much deeper. Nicole and Francesca were drawn to each other due to their sense of independence, confidence, hope, exploration in knowledge, and, most importantly, a connection rooted in the spirit of striving for continual growth throughout life. Nicole and Francesca are deep thinkers and eloquent interpersonal sharers; this fact has defined their personal life journeys and culminated their friendship.
West to East Global Sustainability Stories began as an educated passion project from the vibrant spirits of Nicole and Francesca. WEGSS is three years in the making with hours of personal commitment spent on founding this platform. Through personal and professional challenges, Nicole and Francesca were able to make their shared vision of WEGSS a reality. Nicole and Francesca would like to welcome you to WEGSS; a community born from their bond and deep sense of fulfillment for creating hope in others.

A Note from Nicole
“One of the philosophies that guides my work and the way I interact with the world is truly knowing that life is valuable. Never underestimate your own ability to make a positive impact on the lives of others and to endlessly pursue your own joy and growth. Find inspiration in the small aspects of life and spread kindness wherever you go. Do not be afraid to take risks because they will be invaluable in paving new experiences. Lastly, never be afraid to ask questions, have deep thought-provoking conversations and believe in the power of your own unique gifts and talents.”
Nicole’s Mantra
To find connection with all living things and to promote positive thinking within my family, my friend group and community. I value the opportunities I have for meditation, for travel and being immersed in the natural world. I wish to seek as many learning experiences as I can to enhance my way of thinking about the world and about the interconnection of all living beings. I will be a voice for the less fortunate and a caretaker for both the people and animals that come into my life. Throughout my career, my volunteer obligations, and my personal endeavors I will relentlessly pursue the opportunities to bring happiness to those around me. I will also never lose sight of my own joy and will continue to work on my own self-reflection and growth as a person. I will never be stagnant in my life but will forever work to grow, change and metamorphosis.

“Never be afraid to critically think, challenge yourself, share your ideas, and speak your mind. Be innovative, inventive, and unique. Question everything! The best way to truly learn is by collecting the gifts of knowledge and experience from others. Listen to different perspectives, ideologies, and beliefs and give those ideas space in your mind even if you do not agree. Do not be afraid to have dynamic thought processes, contribute to dialogue, and foster unity. Our universe, our world is full of past and present stories spoken and unspoken; do not hesitate to share yours.”
Fran’s Mantra
To find connection with the Earth and work to promote positive thinking regarding the environment within my family, friends, and community. I value the opportunities I have for travel, education, and the pursuit of work that fosters my sense of purpose. I wish to seek as many learning experiences as I can to enhance my way of thinking about the physical and cultural worlds of the Planet. I will be a voice for all living things and an advocate for the natural world. Through my career and my personal endeavors, I will relentlessly pursue opportunities to make positive change in the world around me. I will never lose sight of my own optimism. I will accept all happenings granted to me with humility, wonderment, and appreciation.
